JEDDAH, 28 May 2006 — The Saudi Arabian Handball Federation now has a new sponsor. This follows an agreement signed between the federation and Universal Motors Agencies (UMA), one of the major General Motors agents in the Kingdom and the rest of the Middle East.

The deal with the federation covers the Elite Championship for the Cup of Prince Faisal ibn Fahd and the Prince Sultan ibn Fahd Championship Cup for the current season.

Federation Chairman Mohammad Al-Matroud and Saleh Naqeeb, general manager, sales and marketing, UMA, took part in the signing ceremony.

“The sponsorship is part of our social responsibilities toward the Saudi society in general and the handball game, which is the second most poplar game across the Kingdom, in particular,” Naqeeb told Arab News, following the deal. “We hope to attract lots of interest in the game, as we believe that it has achieved remarkable results regionally and internationally,” he added.
