MUMBAI, 24 June 2007 — Ignoring serious problems like load shedding, farmers suicides and flood issues facing the state, Maharashtra State Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is all set to embark on a seven-day official trip to the US sponsored by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Deshmukh will be accompanied by Minister for Industry, Mining and Cultural Affairs Ashok Chavan, Chief Secretary Johnny Joseph and a team of officials from the Industry Ministry. Deshmukh will attend the 13th biennial convention of Brihan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM), a confederation of Maharashtra organizations spread across Europe and America, and would also be the chief guest at its business conference in Seattle and is scheduled to be in New York before the convention.
