DAMMAM, 8 July 2007 — When a Saudi guy gets married, it’s customary for his friends to take him on an impromptu parade of cars, honking horns and raising a friendly ruckus. One of these processions was making its way down the Dammam Corniche. Police got involved when the group was driving slowly and dancing in the street, the daily Al-Yaum reported yesterday. The cops blocked the roads and the friends scattered, including the groom who — dressed up in his meshlah (wedding suit) — jogged back to the wedding hall.
