JEDDAH, 14 April 2007 — Nestle Middle East FZE is asking chocolate lovers across the GCC and Lebanon to eat with caution after learning that their popular confection, the Kit Kat Chunky Caramel bar may contain hard pieces of plastic. As a precautionary measure to protect consumers, Nestle has launched a voluntary recall on all supplies of the product. The good news is that the recall only includes the 65-gram Caramel variety of the Kit Kat Chunky, meaning all other variations of the Kit Kat are still safe to enjoy. The affected chocolate bars were manufactured in Australia and shipped for distribution overseas to Singapore, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, and the Middle East.
