Ayna (www.ayna.com), which means “where” in Arabic, is home to the first and most successful Arabic search engine serving the Arabic speaking people of the Middle East and North Africa.
Ayna unveiled the latest version of its application at the third annual Arabic Search Engine conference, organized by the Arab League Arabic Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) in Sharm El Sheikh.
“There are two facts concerning Ayna from a historic and cultural perspective: Ayna is truly the first comprehensive Arabic search engine, and its technological achievements over the last two years will propel the company to occupy a leading position among global search engines when it comes to the Arabic language and culture,” said Dr. Zein Abdul-Hadi, Information Technology consultant, ARADO.
According to Adonis El Fakih, CEO of Ayna, the company’s objective is to use sophisticated digital tools to deliver relevant information, up-to-date news, informative and educational content to the Arabic-speaking Internet users in the Middle East and North Africa.
At a time when others are cutting back their operations in Lebanon, Ayna is actually opening new offices in Beirut and expanding its business. The CEO of Ayna is Lebanese but has lived all of his life in the US. Although the company will remain headquartered in New Hampshire, USA, El Fakih is convinced that now is the time to take the risk and invest in Lebanon.
“The scope of our business is to contribute in uniting the Arab world. We hope to achieve this goal by opening offices in various countries of the Gulf, offering jobs and also creating a huge communication flow process through our site,” said Monica Karam, Ayna marketing manager.
