RIYADH, 18 April 2007 — Six Saudi satellites have been successfully launched from Kazakhstan’s Baikanor Space Center with the help of a rocket named Dnepr, which was produced by the Russian-Ukranian company Kosmotras, according to Prince Turki ibn Saud, deputy chairman of King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology. They included Saudisat-3 and five small satellites, he added.

JIZAN, 18 April 2007 — The Labor Ministry has passed a resolution allowing private and government hostpitals and medical establishments to employ foreigners directly through recruitment offices without the need for prior approval from the ministry, Al-Watan newspaper reported yesterday. RIYADH, 18 April 2007 — A Saudi man lost SR35,000 after exchanging the money with two expatriaes for fake US dollars. The man reported the incident to police, who arrested the two expatriates who had made a business out of forging currency, Al-Riyadh daily reported yesterday.
Cell Phone Thieves Busted in Riyadh
RIYADH, 18 April 2007 — A gang of six Saudi cell phone thieves aged between 19 and 22, who went on a SR842,000 theft spree, was arrested in Riyadh recently. Police received a series of complaints from local Saudis and expatriates about the activities of the gang of six, who would target cell phone shops by smashing front windows to enter after business hours, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday.
