ALKHOBAR, 22 April 2007 — Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice detained (or more appropriately: rescued) a teenage boy who was beaten by mall-goers after they found him going to extreme lengths to meet a girl of his fancy, the daily Al-Yaum reported yesterday. The boy saw the pretty girl in a mall and, as some boys are known to do, decided to follow her in hopes of winning her heart (and her phone number). The girl would have nothing to do with the boy, and after trying to ditch him resorted to what she thought would be the undisputable refuge in a public place: The ladies room. The girl must have been really pretty (or the boy really desperate) because the young man simply followed her right into a very forbidden zone. She screamed, people rushed in, and the boy got a serious whipping before being arrested for indecent behavior.
