CAIRO, 28 April 2007 — Egyptian actor Nour El-Shareef appears as a corrupt minister in the upcoming television drama “Al-Dali”, which he described as a turning point in his career.
The drama directed by Yusuf Sharaf El-Deen, tells the rags to riches story of a young man, according to the Qatar based Arabic daily, Al-Raya.
The young man goes abroad to study and returns a very wealthy man who is hungry for political power. He eventually becomes a minister and gets involved in corrupt politics that eventually ruin his life.
The story was written by Walid Yusuf and also brings to fore the clash between traditional social values held by the older generation and the so-called unprincipled present generation.
The cast of “Al-Dali,” to be aired in the next Ramadan season, includes Majida Zaki, Sawsan Badr, Mahmoud El-Jundi, Salah Abdullah, and El-Muntaser Billah.
