RIYADH, 29 April 2007 — Emaar, the Economic City (Emaar EC), a Tadawul-listed company, is highlighting the rapid progress achieved on King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), the company’s flagship project, at the 10th Real Estate and Urban Development Exhibition being held at Riyadh Exhibitions Company Center from today to May 4. KAEC, the single largest private sector-led project in the region, sprawls over 168 million square meters and has six key components that will propel the economy and create one million job opportunities. Emaar EC has completed more than 45 studies on KAEC for the design of buildings, facilities and infrastructure apart from environment and traffic impact research.
DFSA Gives License to DME
DUBAI, 29 April 2007 — The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has licensed the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME) as an authorized market institution (AMI) in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). The DFSA has also granted the status of recognized body to New York Mercantile Exchange Inc. (NYMEX) to carry on the financial service of operating a clearing house in the DIFC. On April 17, 2006, NYMEX and Commodity Exchange Inc. (COMEX) were each granted the status of recognized bodies within the DIFC to carry out the Financial Service of Operating an Exchange.
