RIYADH, 30 April 2007 – India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recognized the local International Indian Public School (IIPS) and has granted affiliation.
This makes the IIPS the second Indian school in the capital to boast the CBSE affiliation to run senior secondary grades (11 and 12). A team of experts, headed by Vineet Joshi, CBSE secretary, inspected the school and granted approval.
“Based on the CBSE directives, IIPS is offering science stream for the first batch of grade 11 students,” said Abdul Rafi Ather, IIPS chairman, yesterday.
“The IIPS aims to provide a positive learning environment that is conducive for not only high standard of academics but also social and emotional development of the child with a wide range of co-curricular activities such as sports and gymnastics.”
The school, which has a well-equipped science laboratory, also prides itself on having a fully equipped state-of-the-art computer lab where each student has an individual Pentium IV computer with LCD monitors to work on,” Ather added.
The school also has a well-equipped library with a collection of reference books, audio and video educational cassettes, newspapers and magazines, he said, adding that the school has been operating with a set of educational guidelines.
It ensures a maximum enrollment of 20 students per class with a view to enabling teachers to pay individual attention to its students.
