DUBAI, 17 May 2007 — Egyptian actor Mohammed Heneidi has denied charges that his new movie “Andaleeb Doqq,” which he is currently working on, is a plagiarized version of a story written by Egyptian novelist Sameer El-Gamal, deutsche press-agentur reported yesterday.
Heneidi said the similarity between the two was only in the titles but that the stories differed greatly. Wael Ehsan is the director of the movie, which is based on the life and career of the poet Ayman Bahjat Qamar.
The young actor said he kept away from television serials because he did not find any appealing roles.
“My fame and stardom are indebted to TV serials such as ‘Al-Bakheel Wa Ana’ after that, however, I have never come across a story that tempted me to return to the small screen,” he said.
