JEDDAH, 21 May 2007 — Latest medical instruments and hospital facilities are showcased at the four-day health care fair, which opened at the Jeddah Hilton hotel yesterday.
More than 150 exhibitors from countries including Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Poland, Germany and Italy are participating alongside local importers and distributors at the show.
The event is also marked by a two-day symposium on health care problems in children themed “Role of community and family” with the support of Saudi Council of Health Specialties, which will be held for two days from today.
Topics of presentations include the role of family and community in incorporating children with special needs in the community, child abuse, trauma in children, nutrition problems in children and dealing with the diabetic child.
“The exhibition is interesting and it affords local businessmen like me to interact with overseas exhibitors,” Abdul Rahman Al-Sulaiman, an importer of pharmaceutical products, told Arab News.
“Exhibits from various countries are an education for us to update ourselves with latest gadgets and instruments,” a surgeon at an MOH hospital said. Pakistan has put up a pavilion for its 25-member delegation representing 13 pharmaceutical and surgical companies. Ahmad Surgical, Star Laboratories, Stanley Pharmaceutical, Towne Brothers, Pacific Pharmaceuticals, Concise Enterprises, Medicaids Pakistan, Nabi Qassim Industries, National Care Pack, Indus Pharma, Ashar International, Silver Surgical Complex and Euromod Industries are among the Pakistani exhibitors.
The 14th annual event covers international exhibitors dealing in insurance, dental, pharmaceutical, scientific equipment and lab ware.
