RAZR Focuses on Multimedia
Motorola is showing off its quad band RAZR2 V8 handset, featuring up to 2 GB of on-board memory, web browsing, real-time point-to-point video and a faster menu navigation in a slimmer phone.
Expected to be available in July, the phone comes with high speed USB 2.0 for fast music file transfers, Windows Media Player 11 synchronization for simple music management and a music touch screen on the external display. The handset enables up to 500 minutes talk time and 280 hours standby time.
Amazon Launches Podcast Network
Amazon.com has used its content resources to develop the Amazon Podcasts network. The network is offering four channels of free content and the company expects to develop several more soon. Each podcast is available via streaming and download from www.amazon.com/podcast, RSS and iTunes.
The four launch channels on the Amazon Podcast network are:
*Amazon BookClips -- A weekly podcast offering customers a peek at popular soon-to-be-released audiobooks.
*Music You Should Hear -- A weekly MP3 podcast whereby customers receive an MP3 recording featuring complete songs from developing and indie artists, selected by Amazon’s music editors.
*Significant Seven -- A monthly podcast in which book editors from Amazon.com talk about seven, exciting upcoming books. Each book featured in the Significant Seven will be discounted 40 percent for a limited time.
*Amazon Wire -- An exclusive, biweekly podcast featuring interviews with some of today’s hottest authors, actors, directors and musicians.
Google Earth in Arabic
Google Earth is now available in seven new languages including Arabic. This multilanguage launch of Google Earth aims to provide users with new tools for searching and creating geographic content in their native language, highlighting Google’s commitment to facilitating access of Internet services to non-English speakers.
