RIYADH, 27 May 2007 — A Taiwanese construction mission composed of 10 leading construction companies is currently in the Kingdom to foster stronger bilateral business opportunities in construction projects and building materials.
The business group, which arrived in Riyadh on Friday, will also visit Dammam, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai during their business itinerary until June 4.
With the help of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Representative Office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) has organized the construction mission.
The mission held several meetings at city Chamber of Commerce and Industry and intends to create bilateral business opportunities in construction projects and building materials.
The mission aims to enhance mutual trade and investment relationship with Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar.
The country’s construction industry has gained valuable experiences in infrastructure construction projects and diverse professionals and technological improvement over the past decades.
Mission leader Dung-Hsiau Hsieh said “it is undeniable that Taiwan should take part in the construction of Middle East countries and contribute in the economic growth of the whole region.”
