RIYADH, 30 May 2007 — Azzam M. Al-Dakhil, executive vice president and member of the board of directors of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), inaugurated yesterday the campaign called “Test the Wheelchair” for the benefit of the Disabled Children’s Association (DCA) at SRMG headquarters here.
Al-Dakhil said that SRMG management through the direction of its chairman would be always ready to provide support to the association and its programs. He expressed his gratitude to the DCA for sharing the suffering of the disabled children with SRMG’s employees.
The campaign was organized by the SRMG for the benefit of the DCA with the presence of Bandar Othman Saleh, DCA board member and head of the group’s media and human resources development departments. Awad Al-Ghamdi, DCA secretary-general, also attended the function.
The campaign aims to educate people on disability in general and DCA activities in particular. The DCA is providing various charitable services to the disabled children Kingdomwide.
The festival’s slogan, “Live with their suffering,” has given its message to a large gathering of SRMG officials and employees who were invited to the function.
Abdul Wahab Al-Faiz, Al-Eqtisadiah editor in chief, Saad Al-Mahdi, Arriyadiah editor in chief, Yasser Al-Ghaslan, managing editor of Asharq Al-Awsat for Saudi Arabia, and other SRMG officials tried to eperience the difficulties that wheelchair-bound children face everyday.
Al-Dakhil tried to move around the room in a wheelchair but he had to have help.
Othman Saleh thanked Prince Faisal bin Salman, SRMG chairman, for hosting the festival at the SRMG headquarters. He said the SRMG participation in the program reflected the group’s efforts in support of the association. This also showed the group’s exemplary role toward charitable causes that others should follow, he said.
