KARACHI, 3 June 2007 — The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference in the Accountability Court against three officials for involvement in a deal to sell planes to Pakistan International Airlines, which were later found not airworthy. NAB Sindh has filed reference in the Accountability Court of Syed Aal-e-Maqbool Rizvi against General Manager Sales Cathay Pacific, ex-director PIA Rashid Hassan and Pervaiz Hassan accusing them for $10.5 million corruption.
Police Bust Carjacking Cell
The anti-carjacking cell of the Police captured fake currency of Rs.37 million in Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi. According to the police, one member of a carjacking group, Mohammad Salman, who was arrested yesterday, the group was to circulate the fake currency on a large scale.
