YANBU, 10 June 2007 — The first Hyper Panda opened at Danah Mall here over the weekend, with Yousuf Al-Hujaily, acting director general of the Royal Commission for Yanbu, presiding over the formal ceremony.

Dr. Mohamed Amin Kashgari, executive president of the Savola Group’s retail sector, said: “This is the seventh Hyper Panda to open in the Kingdom and is part of our strategy to have 30 Hyper Pandas by 2010.”

Rami Abdulwahab Rajab, director of marketing at Azizia United, said the new Hyper Panda covered an area of 4,900 sq m and would meet the needs of families and individuals. It has a wide range of products including meat, cheese, fish, fruit, vegetables and bread, and household goods including electrical items, stationery, textiles, ready made dresses, toiletry, toys and fitness instruments.

Abdul Rahman Al-Rafai, Azizia Panda’s director of human resources, said Saudization was one of the company’s major objectives.

The new Hyper Panda has 250 employees including 150 Saudis.
