Mina Al-Fajer Resort Project to Take Off
DUBAI, 11 June 2007 — Property developer Mina Al-Fajer Real Estate announced that construction for what is envisioned to be a world-class marina in its AED600 million Mina Al-Fajer Resort in Fujairah will now commence following the appointment of Tidalmarine Engineering (TME), a reputed Malaysian firm engaged in dredging, reclamation, coastal protection, port and harbour activities all over the world. The project will be completed by the end of 2009. The deal was signed by Ahmed Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, vice chairman, Mina Al-Fajer Real Estate LLC and Eng. Nik Abdullah Kamel, regional manager ME, Tidalmarine Engineering.
Sharjah’s Foreign Trade Rises 13%
SHARJAH, 11 June 2007 — Sharjah’s foreign trade has made a significant rise of 13 percent to reach AED29.5 billion compared to last year’s AED26.1 billion, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) said. Import rose from AED16.8 billion in 2005 to AED18.9 billion in 2006, representing a rise of 12.5 percent. Re-export also grew by 12.1 percent, rising from AED9.1 billion in 2005 to AED10.2 billion in 2006.
Monarch Gold Mining Listed on DIFX
DUBAI, 11 June 2007 — Monarch Gold Mining Company Limited listed its shares today on the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), the third Australian company to do so. Monarch will also be the third gold mining company to list on the DIFX, the rapidly growing stock market that serves the region between Western Europe and East Asia. Monarch is already listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:MON). Michael Kiernan, Monarch’s chairman, said: “DIFX provides an excellent gateway for investors to invest in Monarch for the first time as our business rapidly expands toward pouring its first gold bar in July 2007.”
