Oudh Manch, a cultural forum, celebrated its second anniversary in Dammam recently. A big turnout of families in brightly colored traditional attire marked the event.
“It is not just the traditional clothing or the very sweet language that we speak or the unique courtesy that we extend that separate us from the rest. It is the rich heritage and all these combined that give the Oudhi people a distinct identity,” said Shazia.
The evening saw a cultural program, games and a variety of quizzes. However, the Gulf Meridian-sponsored game, “Braiding the Hair” had everyone in peels of laughter as the participants emerged with multiple braids giving them an “extraterrestrial look.”
Mirza Jamal and Noman Kidwai were the winners with 27 and 25 braids, respectively.
“It was a great chance to meet people and the children really had a great time,” said Saba Azam.
