DUBAI, 18 June 2007 — The stars of a popular Saudi satire program were robbed by their production company’s accountant, the daily Al-Jazirah newspaper reported recently.
Abdullah Al-Sadahan and Nasser Al-Qasbi, the faces of the program “Tash Ma Tash” (which translates loosely as “Slipped Away, or Not”), said the thief slipped away to Cairo and bought property there with the stolen cash.
Al-Sadahan and Al-Qasbi said that while they were on a trip to Jordan for business, their employee fled the country with money drawn from the ATMs after the man used forged letters to get a replacement bankcard. The actors said an abandon car was found used by the suspect and inside were ATM receipts and other incriminating evidence.
The actors are now pursuing legal charges against the man, which will be complicated by the fact he is in Egypt instead of Saudi Arabia.
