RIYADH, 23 June 2007 — The Ensan Organization headed by Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman stands to benefit from a fund drive that is being held by world-renowned jewelers and watchmaker Cartier in Riyadh.
“All of the revenues from the sale of Cartier luxury items will be donated to the Ensan Organization, which takes care of some 16,000 orphans,” Managing Director Patrick Normand told Arab News on the campaign’s launch.
He said that giving back to the community has always been a priority “for us and I am extremely excited to launch this year a new Love Charity bracelet that will help raise funds and awareness of various charitable and humanitarian organizations around the world.” The Love Charity bracelet is being sold in Cartier boutiques for SR1,875.
The campaign, which officially kicked off in the Kingdom last June, is also being held in Lebanon.
Normand thanked all participants, including Abdullah Al-Shehri representing the Ensan Organization. Normand said that while in the Kingdom all revenue from luxury items that are sold would go to Ensan beneficiaries, only ten percent of revenue would go to selected humanitarian organizations in the other countries where the campaign is being held.
Last year, the humanitarian initiative was also held in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain. “Thanks to the contributions and generosity of the people in the four countries mentioned, we were able to raise $291,000 to support four charity associations in the region,” Normand said.
