RIYADH, 28 June 2007 — Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) launched direct debit service for postpaid customers in cooperation with SABB, for the first time in the Kingdom, the company said in a statement yesterday.
Under the agreement, SABB will act as the collecting bank for all Mobily direct debit customers.
Direct debit is a convenient method of bill payment that requires a one-time setup and reduces the possibility of late or missed payments.
Mobily postpaid customers wishing to benefit from the new payment facility need only a bank account from any licensed Saudi bank and a visit to a Mobily showroom to sign the direct debit authorization forms.
The new payment facility brings to six the number of payment facilities available for Mobily postpaid customers, including cash at the counter, payment through ATM cards and cash through Mobily Auto machines and Mobily M-Pay terminals available at Mobily showrooms and dealers, as well as online credit card payment and at Mobily showrooms.
Mobily is a listed Saudi company and floated 20 percent of its shares on Tadawul, the Saudi stock exchange. Private investors hold another 45 percent of the company’s shares, with the remainder, 35 percent, is owned by UAE’s Etisalat.
