JEDDAH, 30 June 2007 — The Pakistan International School (English Section) held its annual award-giving ceremony here to honor outstanding students. Pakistan’s Ambassador retired Adm. Shahid Karimullah was the chief guest.
Principal Esar Hussein Shah speaking about the achievements of the school said, “PISJ-ES is rated as one of the best schools in the Middle East and has reached unprecedented heights.”
Ambassador Karimullah praised the efforts of Shah, Vice Principal Yasmin B. Suleiman and Director Finance and Administration Saher Kamran for taking the school to new heights.
The ambassador noted that the school was providing quality education and all opportunities for the development of young talents. He hoped that the school would set new records given the high standard being maintained by the institution.
In addition to the award-giving function, the school staged a cultural program that included Kashmiri folk dance and a debate contest.
Awards were presented to the school’s IGCSE students for their exceptional 2005-06 results. Syeda Mehrunnisa, with a record achievement of 9A*s and 2 As, was declared the Cambridge gold medalist. Asnia Shah and Zainab Qazi with 5A*s and 5As, Saad Riaz and Syed Faran Bukhari with 4A*s and 4 As were among other outstanding students.
Mujtaba Manzoor was awarded for being the Kingdomwide top achiever in mathematics.
Zahid Tractor and Elmia Bookstore were the main sponsors of the event, while Hani Juice, Rainbow Milk, and Dentonic Powder were co-sponsors.
