JEDDAH, 3 July 2007 — ALJ’s Community Service Programs continued to provide new job opportunities for the Saudi society. By the end of the first half of 2007, ALJ community service program managed to create more than 10,300 job opportunities in different parts in the Kingdom, which is an increase by 60 percent from the same period last year. The program managed to create 828 jobs opportunity in the field of training that ends with employment for men and 413 jobs opportunity for women in the same field. The programs employed 811 young Saudis around the Kingdom in addition to employing 335 women.
ALJ employed 513 men and women in the first half of this year. The technical assistant programs included 52 Saudis and the Nafisa Shams Academy trained 178 Saudi women in the field of training that ends with employment. The same academy managed to employ 72 girls in companies in the private sectors. In the field of supporting small projects, ALJ supported 585 small projects early this year, through which they managed to create 884 jobs opportunities. The programs supported more than 6,000 women in the family field. ALJ community service program provided 143 limousine cars for Saudis since early this year and 13 trucks.
Three thousand five hundred and eighty six job opportunities were created in Makkah area; 1,567 job opportunities were created in Riyadh area; 1,485 job opportunities were created in Madinah area; 1,245 job opportunities were created in Hail area; 952 job opportunities were created in Jizan area; 703 job opportunities were created in the eastern province and 217 job opportunities were created in Asir area.
