DUBAI, 6 July 2007 — The “Wanasah” music channel went live with a three-hour broadcast celebration of music, dancing and other performances by some of the most popular names in contemporary and pop Arabic music.

The concert included a set performed by Rashed Al-Majid along with Abdul Majid Abdullah, Majed Al-Mohandes, Hussain Al-Jasmi, Shirin, Ehab Tawfeeq, Yara and Nabil Shaeil. Among invited guests were artists, divas, and other stars from all around the Arab world including George Kirdahi, Dawood Hussain, Hyatt Al-Fahed, Hind, Mohammed Al-Mansoor and news presenters from MBC and Al Arabiya.

Millions of viewers joined in the celebration from their homes throughout the Arab world.

“Finally we can celebrate after many months of preparation and planning,” said Al-Majid.

“It’s great to be able to witness the launch of Wanasah, which we hope will really represent Arab youth in a way no other channel has done before. We’re all very excited and hope that our viewers enjoy watching Wanasah as much as we’ve enjoyed working on it.”
