DAMMAM, 9 July 2007 — A large number of expatriates, especially low-paid workers who do not have health insurance, benefited from the free medical camp organized by the Dammam chapter of Kerala Relief Wing (KRW) at Dar As-Sihha Dispensary here recently.
“Many of the patients were diagnosed with common ailments and were given free medicines, but those with serious sickness or other difficulties were treated there and assured of continued free medical attention,” said Mujeeburrahman, president of KRW in Dammam.
Dr. Atif (intern), Dr. Abdullah (eye specialist), Dr. Biju Hariharan (orthopedic surgeon), Dr. Ruqiyabi (ENT specialist), Dr. Wafa (pathologist), Dr. Julia Fathima (radiologist), Dr. Noorul Ameen (dentist), Dr. Sahir, Dr. Jayanthi James and Dr. Zaid Rayhan (general practitioners) participated in the camp.
Khaled. S. Al-Tuwaijeri, administration manager of the dispensary, opened the camp during a ceremony, which was presided over by K.M. Basheer. Dr. Biju Hariharan, Anwar of Geepas, and Sajid Aratupuzha of Gulf Madhyamam gave felicitation speeches.
The camp was organized in association with Geepas Group. An organization of Keralite expatriates, KRW, conducts philanthropic and humanitarian programs in the Kingdom as well as in Kerala, Abdul Kareem, the convener, said. “It also collects medicine and clothes from the wealthy in order to distribute them among the needy,” he added.
