HAFR Al-BATEN, 10 July 2007 — A mobile-phone thief literally struck out when the phone of a rest-house owner in the Eastern city of Hafr Al-Baten did not prove up to his standards, according to a report recently in Al-Madinah newspaper. Shortly after the theft occurred, the man noticed a bag hanging from the branch of a nearby tree. The man climbed up and retrieved the bag. Inside was his mobile phone. Was it magic? A trickster? No. According to the report, the man believes whomever stole the phone realized he couldn’t use it because it was password protected. Instead of tossing it away, the thief returned the phone.
