RIYADH, 12 July 2007 — The newly formed India Forum has announced that it will set up a data bank on employment and business opportunities for Indian expatriates in the Kingdom as part of its multidimensional role in the service of the community.
At the press conference, where India Forum unveiled its plans, India’s Ambassador M.O.H. Farook was present in his capacity as its patron along with Afzal J. Sanai, president, K.S. Rajan, Saeeduddin and Dr. Dilnawaz Romi, vice presidents, S. Jayaseelan, general secretary, and Dr. Mukhtar Khan, joint secretary.
Earlier, Farook assured his embassy’s support to the forum and said its presence would go a long way in serving the interests of the community. A similar forum has been in existence for a long time in Jeddah.
Explaining the aims and objectives of the forum, Sanai said it was mainly intended to help NRIs in the Kingdom and identify a rehabilitation program for them when they return home.
To start with, the forum would launch a data base on business and job opportunities for the NRIs. “The data bank will also create a pool of talented Indians together with the details of their specialties for the prospective employers.”
