MADINAH, 18 July 2007 — Guests applauded the performance of a group of women wedding singers at a wedding reception in Madinah, according to a report in yesterday’s Al-Madinah newspaper. Nevertheless the father of the groom decided he didn’t want to pay the hardworking performers. Well, all right then, the performers thought to themselves, we’ll just go find a cop. So they did. The father then reluctantly shelled out the cash under the vigilant eyes of an officer of the law.
