ABHA, 18 July 2007 — Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, is scheduled to open the seventh military exhibition at the King Khaled Airbase in the Asir region today. He arrived in Abha late yesterday after leaving Jeddah earlier in the day.

He was received at the Abha airport by Asir Governor Prince Faisal ibn Khaled, Undersecretary of the Asir governorate Abdul Aziz Al-Khodairi, Commander of the Southern Region Maj. Gen. Omar ibn Hassan Babaeer, Commander of the King Khaled Airbase Maj. Gen. Muhammad Saleh Al-Otaibi and several tribal chiefs and dignitaries in the region.

The Asir governorate organized a function in honor of the crown prince at the main Khalidiah Reception Hall last night.

The programs in the function included recitation of poems, an operetta performance and fireworks.

The operetta, Riwaya, was composed by Abdullah Al-Shareef with Muhammad Abdu's recitations.

The crown prince will also open a large mosque at the military city and attend a reception at the Equestrian Club, which has been organized by the armed forces in the region, Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.
