RIYADH, 25 July 2007 — The Cassation Court in Riyadh has confirmed a lower court ruling in which two thieves were sentenced to jail and handed lashes for burgling homes and selling stolen jewelry, Riyadh police announced yesterday.
One of the thieves was sentenced to four years in jail and handed 700 lashes, while the other was sentenced to three years in jail and handed 500 lashes for selling stolen goods.
Riyadh police said that Al-Manar Police Department was notified of various burglaries across Riyadh in which jewelry had been stolen.
