SHARJAH, 25 July 2007 — Air Arabia, described as the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, yesterday announced its financial results for the first half of 2007. The company’s net profit for the six months ending June 30 stood at AED115 million, a 342 percent increase compared to AED 26 million for the first six months of last year. During the first half of the year, the company registered a turnover of AED513 million, up 67 percent from AED307 million for the first half of 2008. The airline served 1.23 million passengers during first half of 2007, a 57.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
