MAKKAH, 28 July 2007 — Muhammd Murad Sifr Khan, a 28-year-old Pakistani man, hung himself from the roof of his house in front of his family, according to Makkah police as reported by Al-Eqtisadiah daily. No motive was cited for the suicide, but police said that the family reported Sifr Khan was suffering from emotional distress for the past two years.

JEDDAH, 28 July 2007 — Thirteen people were arrested, eight men and five women of various Arab and Asian nationalities, for illegally operating an events scheme for planning weddings and hosting parties. Four of the suspects are illegal residents, Al-Madinah reported.

JIZAN, 28 July 2007 — An unidentified man set fire to a vehicle and shot up two other cars, the Al-Watan daily reported. A local resident smelled burning fuel and looked outside to see the car in flames and a figure in the shadows shooting out the windows of two parked cars.
Insult Via SMS Leads to Homicide
DAMMAM, 28 July 2007 — Four young Saudi men between the ages of 23 and 28 are facing murder charges in the village of Al-Aulaia for killing a man who sent them a poem by Bluetooth that insulted them. The four suspects allegedly admitted to killing the victim, but said they only intended to beat him senseless in revenge for insulting them, the daily Al-Riyadh reported.
