Dubai Lime (www.dubailime.com) is a community website launched in June as a forum for cultural development and exchange. Dubai Lime registrants and users can experience online and offline interaction with other members. Real life community events such as music, art and cultural events are held on a regular basis for Dubai Lime’s loyal fans. Dubailime.com has recorded over 250,000 hits in the past 30 days and since the website went live, subscribers have doubled week on week.

Offering more than just an entertainment portal, Dubai Lime is a comprehensive tool for residents and tourists alike. The website broadcasts video clips made in Dubai, an original music podcast and listing of Dubai’s events, classified section, restaurants and food venues as well as Dubai’s tourist attractions. Register at Dubai Lime and receive invitations to parties, social and cultural events plus access to online competitions.

Partnering with Dubai-based radio 92FM, Dubai Lime airs a weekly music show, “The Open Mic with Dubai Lime” broadcasting every Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to promote original music in the city. Bringing underground original music into the limelight, Dubai Lime’s main focus is to develop a forum for Dubai’s music composers and lovers to meet and share their love of music. Dubai Lime continues to organize weekly open mic sessions that bring artists from different cultural backgrounds to take the stage at the city’s famous Central Perk and Bert’s cafes. Playing to a receptive audience, each session invites five to six of Dubai Lime’s registered artists to showcase their musical talents. Frequently, Dubai Lime musicians hold exchange forums and share ideas on new compositions, music development and explore possibility of developing bands.

Last week it was announced that the Dubai Lime Music Podcast will now be available as a default feed in the Nokia Podcasting application available to all Nokia S60 3.x devices which include the popular Nokia Nseries and Eseries devices. By partnering with Nokia, the podcast which is generated by Dubai’s Lime’s not-for-profit music forum will be downloadable over WLAN or 3G to Nokia users worldwide. The podcast promotes Dubai-based original music to a global audience and serves to promote Dubai as a destination rich in culture and musical creativity.
