RIYADH, 31 July 2007 — Mobily has reached a total of 100 active prepaid roaming agreements, making it the operator with the widest prepaid roaming coverage in the Kingdom.
The agreements Mobily has signed with other operators for prepaid roaming include Jawal (Palestine), MTC Pakistan, Ufone, Grameenphone (Bangladesh), Etisalat Misr, Du (UAE), Etisalat Tunis and Cingular (United States).
Its international 3G Video Calling Destinations include operators in Bahrain, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain and the UAE.
Mobily has a prepaid roaming coverage across the Arab peninsula in all GCC states, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Libya, Morocco, France, Germany, Britain, Switzerland, and a number of East Asian states.
Mobily itself was the first Saudi operator to offer prepaid roaming, launch Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and made mobile Internet services available to prepaid subscribers in the country. Meanwhile, Mobily added SmarTone in Hong Kong, Etisalat Misr, Mobile One (Singapore) and Maxis (Malaysia) as new Video Call roaming partners, bringing the number of Mobily’s Video calling roaming partners to 10.
Last month, Mobily signed a series of 3G services (mobile broadband, video calling, mobile TV) roaming agreements with SFR in France along with T-Mobile in Britain.
Mobily first launched 3G services roaming with its partner Etisalat in the UAE when it first launched the service last year.
Mobily has roaming agreements and MMS with conventional mobile data with K-Cell (Kazakhstan), Du (UAE), E-Plus (Germany), almost on the heals of last month’s agreements with Claro in Brazil, MTC Kuwait, DTAC (Thailand), H3G (Italy), Swisscom, and Belgacom.
