JEDDAH, 1 August 2007 — Pakistan’s Consul General Zaighamuddin Azam met the Director General of Saudi Press Agency Abdul Aziz Al-Ghamdi yesterday and discussed matters of mutual interest.
Ghamdi spoke about the excellent relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and said that SPA appointed its first foreign correspondent in Pakistan soon after its establishment.
He said the SPA and Pakistan’s state-run agency Associated Press of Pakistan signed a cooperation agreement two years ago, but there is still room for further cooperation. Ghamdi stressed the need for more exchange of news.
The consul general stressed the role of the media and assured the SPA director general of the consulate’s full support in further cementing ties between the two countries.
