JEDDAH, 1 August 2007 — The Ministry of Higher Education is resuming the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for External Scholarships for the third school year in a row for college-bound students wanting to study abroad in the next academic year.

Applications for postgraduate are being accepted online and will continue through Aug. 15 on the ministry’s website www.mohe.gov.sa. After Aug. 15, applications will be accepted for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees. Scholarship winners will be announced on the ministry’s website and the students will be informed by SMS.

An official from the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Higher Education said that about 3,000 postgraduate applications have been received from Jeddah so far.

Eligible candidates cannot currently hold government jobs and must be Saudi full-time college students. In order to receive the scholarship the student will also have to obtain the visa and submit proof of acceptance to an accredited university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education.
