JEDDAH, 11 January 2008 — Showtime Arabia’s SHOWSPORTS kicks off 2008 with the SAGA Insurance Masters on Sunday (Jan. 13) at 2 p.m.
The SAGA competition, the most prestigious and important invitation tournament this year, will host the top 16 players of the world qualifying automatically plus two wildcards awarded to Ryan Day and Steve Davis.
Three sessions are to be held every day with the top 16 players of the world competing for the prestigious title, including last year’s champion Ronnie “The Rocket” O’Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, and many others.
SHOWSPORTS 4 will broadcast the opening morning session of the tournament on Sunday, while ShowSports 3 will broadcast the rest of the tournament sessions.
Showtime will continue to broadcast the best in snooker tournaments during 2008 including Welsh Open in February, World Championship in May, Grand Prix and Pot Black in October, and UK Championship in December.
