JEDDAH, 7 March 2008 — Formula One fans will have a rare chance to closely watch and experience the thrill and excitement of the world sport when Tahlia Street here will temporarily become a racetrack tonight.
Red Bull Racing F-1 car, driven by David Coulthard, will start a show-run from the parking lot at Al Basateen Center. The show-run will finish at the traffic signal opposite SAMBA building on the same street. “The historic event will be the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia,” a spokesman for Red Bull told Arab News yesterday. Coulthard, 36, has won 13 Grand Prix titles so far during his F-1 career, which began with the Spanish Grand Prix in 1994. Coulthard is the most successful British driver of all time in terms of F1 points scored, with a total of 527 to date.
In addition to Red Bull Racing, Red Bull also has a second Formula One team, called Scuderia Toro Rosso.
