BAHRAIN, 4 May 2008 — The last round of Lumina CSV Championship Middle East, one of Bahrain Grand Prix races, sponsored by Chevrolet Motorsport, came to an end recently.
Bahraini Fahd Al Muslim ranked 1st with 156 points, Saudi UMA (Universal Motor Agency) team driver Abdul Aziz Al- Yaish 2nd with 152 points and Bahraini Sheikh Hamad ibn Eissa Al Khalifa with 137 points in third place. The opportunity of winning the championship was restricted among the first three drivers after the retirement of the winner of the last championship, Australian driver Tarek Jamal, originally from Egypt.
Competitions of the final round started with Al Yaish taking-off. All of the eight rounds were very difficult for the drivers. Al-Yaish and Jamal posed a challenge to each other.
Finally the former succeeded and overtook the latter.
Then, Sheikh Hamad took the lead and continued until the end of the race, while Al Yaish got into a new challenge with Ahmad Hamadah and Fahd Al Musalim, and finally managed to end the race in 2nd position.
Al-Yaish said: “I thank Allah. I tried my best to win the title but once again the title has slipped out of my hands. I consider this to be one of the best races I have taken part. I managed to start from the last position and finished 2nd in a round and a half.”
“I took 2nd position in the championship and teams Championship Cup. This is an extremely wonderful thing to raise my country flag high in the international event,” he added.

Drivers’ Results: Fahd Al Muslim 191 points, Abdul Aziz Al-Yaish 169, Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa 169 points, Ahmad Hamada 144 points, Tarek Jamal 117 points, Rae Rafei 110 points, Fahd Hezam 104 , Raed Shaarawi 97 points.
Team Results: UMA motorsport 200 points, Linker racing team 197 points, and Beck Performance 167 points.
