WINDSOR: A royal exhibition of the brotherhood between the cultures of East and West was demonstrated amidst a global wealth of spectators, all present for a charitable cause on Wednesday at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, UK.
Adding another year to its polo legacy, BMG Foundation’s 12th annual charitable GCC Polo Cup, was attended by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Prince Hussam ibn Saud in addition to numerous prominent international business and social leaders from the East and West.
The athletes had the audience on the edge of their seats as the GCC Team clinched a well-deserved victory scoring four and a half points with the Guards Polo Club scoring four points.
The GCC Polo Cup was supported by a valuable group of sponsors that made the event possible, namely Zain Telecom, Evonik Industrials, Saudi Research & Marketing Group, Istithmar World, BMG Financial Advisors, Dubai Wellness Center, AlHamrani Group of Companies, Beltone Financial, AlJoman for Environmental Care, Zedan Group, Bentley Motors, Impact Proximity and Crystal Arc.
Salman Alhamrani of the GCC team scored the first goal for the team, accompanied by his countryman and GCC team captain, Amr Zedan.
The two Saudis were joined by Saeed Bin Drai and Mohammad AlBawardi from the UAE.
Both teams performed very well on the field as the Guards Polo Club team was in the lead until the GCC team managed to score a final point ending the match in their favor.
The GCC Polo Cup is the highlight of the BMG Foundation’s summer.

During Wednesday’s polo event, the winning Saudi artists’ paintings resulting from this year’s Art Alive “Bridges” competition in Saudi Arabia were auctioned to raise additional funds for charity.
