RIYADH: Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh yesterday members of the first Saudi women’s soccer team “Kings United” led by Maha Al-Juffali.
During the meeting, Prince Alwaleed discussed the current status of the team, its latest achievements and the difficulties they encounter highlighting the importance of supporting and empowering Saudi women in all fields.
Prince Alwaleed donated SR115,000 to the team as a token of appreciation and recognition to their achievements including the 20 matches they played against local teams and the three championships they participated, one of which was Jeddah American Schools Championship.
Maha Al-Juffali thanked Prince Alwaleed on behalf of the team for his efforts in supporting sports federations and clubs.
