"The performance of the group's travel wing, Planet Travel & Tours LLC, is not that largely affected due to the spectrum of services and products offered to the travelers. We are lucky to have a very well balanced equation of different components whether it's business travel, retail and holidays, general sales agency, representations and advisory services, or inbound travel," he added.

Since 1989, the travel wing has established itself as a one-stop shop for all travel needs in Dubai. "The one-stop solution for travel, tours and cargo expanded from one sales shop to five outlets at key locations in the UAE," he said, adding that Dubai witnessed a slowdown in 2009, and it gave Planet Travels and Tours, an opportunity to evaluate itself.

Talking of strategies that have changed within the Planet Travels & Tours spectrum toward more market visibility, Nalkhande added: "We are focusing more on strengthening the distribution network and soon our Abu Dhabi office will open its doors. We have a fresh sense of expectancy in the days ahead and much more to be announced during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai between May 5 and 9.
