- Having lovely legs is important and while men seem to find it easier to build muscle and keep it, for women it is a never ending quest.
- That said, the quickest way to good legs is to walk or cycle and the quickest and best way of all is to run.
Just losing weight doesn’t mean that your legs will look good, as the shape of your legs is determined by exercise. So for great looking legs and to eliminate cellulite, you need a combination of healthy, low fat eating, and all round exercise.
Most women have some cellulite and to a degree it’s in our DNA. There is no real need to fuss about it. But if you tone your legs through exercise you will be amazed at how well it disappears.
The reason exercising is important is because the more lean muscle mass you have in your body, the higher your metabolism is. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn everyday even when not working out. So as you can see, some weight training in the gym is crucial to any exercise regime especially if you want good legs.
So many people wanting to tone up and start taking exercise take on too much too soon and eventually have to stop because they have tried to do too much and have ended up over tired or even feeling unwell. So it is important to start gently.
I would suggest that everyone can benefit from my award winning Mini-Morning Workout. It only takes a few minutes in the morning before you shower. The Mini-Morning Workout gets your circulation going and makes you feel good about the day ahead.
Work toward three 30-minute periods of exercise per week. You will need at least one gym session but this can be short to start with. For example, cycle for 10 minutes, row for 5 minutes and run or fast walk for 5 minutes. Follow this with 5 minutes on machines selected by your fitness instructor to target your legs. If you cannot face the gym it is a good idea to treat yourself to a running machine or an exercise bike for your home.
Swimming is a good all-round cardio exercise and everyone who can, should include a weekly swim. Work towards swimming for half an hour. How swimming keeps you fit:
• Provides a good aerobic workout
• Tones the whole body
• Improves and maintains flexibility
• Mobilizes joints without stress and pain
• Stimulates muscle growth
• Helps with weight loss
• Stress reliever
Why? Walking just 10 minutes each day makes a difference to your legs, heart and blood pressure and it is very important to get some fresh air every day. After about six weeks you should notice a real difference not only in your legs but in overall fitness and feeling of well-being.
Olive oil is cultivated for its exquisite flavor and also for its health benefits. The oil is extracted from the juices of ground and pressed olives. In the past, it has been used to heal wounds, moisturize hair and skin and strengthen fingernails. Research has also shown that olive oil promotes digestion, stimulates metabolism, and lowers cholesterol levels. So it is much better than animal fat and is good for the body — but use it sparingly as it contains about 45 calories per teaspoon! Put only a teaspoon in salad and use as little as possible in cooking.
