- ALKHOBAR: The spirit of generosity continues into Eid, not just by paying zakat or giving to the poor but also by bailing people out of jail.
According to Saturday’s edition of Shams newspaper, a Saudi philanthropist paid SR171,600 worth of fines and debts of several unlucky men who found themselves behind bars during the holiday, mostly for debts owed on traffic-related compensations.
The philanthropist may have been the one who received the best gift, however, when one of the guys, a Nepalese man, embraced Islam and shared Eid with the Saudi and his family.
