The Shoura Chairman is currently on an official visit to Romania on an invitation from Romanian Senate President Mircea Geoana.

The council delegation, led by Al-Asheikh, comprises Saleh Al-Zahrani, Abdullah Al-Askar, Abdul Rahman Al-Enadh and Fahad Al-Anezi.

Al-Asheikh is also scheduled to meet with Romanian President Traian Basescu.

“We are inviting the Saudi investors to take part in our development works,” Boc told the Shoura team at his office in Bucharest.

He said foreign investment in areas such as agriculture, energy, highways and rail services could bring immense benefits to both countries.

The premier praised Saudi Arabia’s political and economic policies and pointed out that the Kingdom was playing a vital global role in international relations.

“Saudi Arabia has gained the respect of the world community because of its prominent role in the global arena.”

At the start of the bilateral talks, while welcoming the Saudi delegation, the premier said the two countries maintained excellent relations under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and President Basescu.

He called for further strengthening of bilateral ties.

On his part, Al-Asheikh said the talks between the Shoura delegation and the Romanian premier focused on boosting bilateral relations in political, economic, trade, cultural, recreational and academic fields.

The Shoura chairman hoped that such discussions would lead to new areas of co-operation, meeting the growing needs of the two countries.

During his upcoming talks with other government officials, Al-Asheikh said he would discuss ways of further promoting trade and investment between Romania and Saudi Arabia.

On Monday, the Saudi team held talks with the members of the Bucharest-based Saudi-Romanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee.

Al-Asheikh said Saudi-Romanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee members had expressed their keenness to widen areas of cooperation to promote bilateral interests.
