Set within a comfortable composure, Ohayo is a casual dining experience good for a night out with friends or family. It offers a radiant and cozy ambiance promising nothing fancy, only gastronomic pleasure.
Ohayo’s staff is an equivocal race from Tempura Bar in Manila, who have catered to Japanese cuisine art and made it their specialty. Ohayo offers you just that with a greater twist with added beef, vegetables and seafood.
Starting with starters they offer a wide variety of appetizers. Soups range from aromatic Miso soup, Crab Miso soup and Ebi salad (a mixture of shrimp, cucumber, mango, caviar with lettuce and a special sauce.) Fish is locally selected to suit the tastes and blends of Japanese taste threads, whereas salmon, tuna and octopus are imported fresh from Japan on a weekly basis. They currently might run out of these ingredients in case there was more unforeseen consumption, as they are a new chain; however, their waiters are more than willing to help you out with healthier offers and food variances. They also have a Rock Shrimp salad with fried shrimp, batter lettuce, spicy mayo and seaweeds. Their unique Wafu salad dressing is imminent to Ohayo’s menu progression.
Most popular items are their Crispy Crazy Maki, Ohayo Special Rolls and Shrimp Tempura. Ika Furai is fried squid with batter and comes in a spicy connotation. Tori Katsu Panko (Japanese bread crumbs) comes as a crusted fried chicken breast with a sweet Tonkatsu dipping sauce. Their fried shrimp Chilli Ika Furai is crunchy squares served warm and fresh as per standard classification. Their Shrimp Tempura is crispy, light and fresh, depicting Ohayo’s novel raw materials they use from scratch to lather brilliant Japanese delicacies.
Their Teriyaki dishes are pervasive of Japanese gastronomy as their chef is a veteran with 20 years of experience in cooking bona fide Japanese food.
Get ready to dig in, if you are one of those Sushi aficionados and have an insatiable desire for it. Their Sushi (2 pieces) comes in Ebi (shrimp), Kani (crab), Shake (salmon), Saba (mackerel) and a whole new ball game of eel, tuna, octopus, egg and avocado. These are more or less priced between SR 12 to SR 37. Sushi with shrimp and salmon is fresh, solvent in flavor and better equipped than the rather dry California rolls.
Hoso Maki (6 rolls) is made with various mixtures compromising of Kappa (cucumber), Tempura Maki and Crispy Salmon Skin, which are amongst the popular ones. The Ura Makis rolls are a conglomeration of “Crazy Maki,” composed of avocado, crab and cucumber, among other things. Their Mango Maku involves a twist of mango, crab and cucumber. Ohayo Special Rolls also come in a six-roll platter. Their Dragon Roll is enveloped between shredding eel, crab, avocado and cucumber. However, their Spider Roll consists of crab tempura, lettuce with Philly cheese, mango and teriyaki sauce. The Tiger Roll is an intriguing combustion of caviar, lettuce, and shrimp tempura with a special sauce.
Their Sashimi consists of fresh raw seafood, sliced into thin pieces and served only with a dipping sauce. It is basically raw meat sliced and served alone. Ohayo serves a diverse range of shrimp, crab, shake, mackerel and much more. Their Temaki is Californian, avocado inspired and spicy tuna.
With a welcoming haze and exuberant staff, Ohayo welcomes its customers to soft music in a traditional Japanese atmosphere with chopsticks for the learned and plastic tools for the learning-to-eat-with-them enthusiasts. Painted beside red and white walls, their décor is classic black and white furniture that embodies effortless simplicity.
