The retired general also said the presidency would be an adventure at this difficult time.

He promised to rebuild the club and bring back glory.

“The mission is not easy and it needs a lot of time but I will do my best. I am not alone in this mission. There are others loyal to the club who will stand by my side,” said Bin Dakhel.

Muhammad bin Dakhel Al-Johani was born in 1952 in Yanbu. He has a bachelor’s degree from King Saud University and a master’s degree from New Haven University in the United States.

He holds another master’s degree in military science from the UK. He started his military career at the National Guard and worked his way up until he became a general before he retired.

Bin Dakhel believes that the time has come to change. He believes that he is up to the task and that his two master’s degrees in administration will help him run the club.

“I benefited a lot from military life. I learned discipline, order, honesty and many other things. I am not saying that I will turn the club into a boot camp, but I am going to be tough against issues that could harm the club.”

Bin Dakhel administration team includes Ayman Naseef as his deputy as well as other members such as Omar Al-Kholi, Abdul Taleef Nema, Jameel Abu Al-Naja, Samer Al-Mahdar, Osama Basha, Omar Humaidan and Muhammad Al-Yami.

Bin Dakhel said that Ittihad’s new coach would be revealed in the next meeting with his administration. He said that it is possible that it might be Demetri. He said the club needs new players, but it would not be a complete overhaul to avoid upsetting the harmony of the team.

Bin Dakhel revealed some of his future plans, among them, developing the team at all age levels, prepare for the AFC Champions League, bring in new international players, and maintaining good relations with the rest of the clubs in the Kingdom.
