Already the largest economy in the region and a key member of the G20, Saudi Arabia is undergoing an extraordinary economic boom. Massive public investment, rapid private-sector growth, and new sector initiatives are driving an expansion projected to offer more than $1 trillion in trade and investment opportunities over the next decade.

This three-day forum will highlight the US-Saudi commercial and trade relationship and how US companies can participate in Saudi Arabia's expansion. It will also provide a unique platform for US and Saudi executives to establish new and lasting business ties, according to a press release.

"We are pleased to host the US-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum in December," said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. "Saudi Arabia plays a vital role in the global economy, and this forum will highlight the many opportunities for Atlanta-based companies to do business in Saudi Arabia and for Saudi companies to invest in Atlanta."

Officials likely to attend from Saudi Arabia will include Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Zainal Alireza, Minister of Health Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency Gov. Muhammad Al-Jasser, and Capital Market Authority Gov. Abdulrahman Al-Tuwaijri.

Sam A. Williams, president of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Chris Cummiskey, commissioner of Georgia's Department of Economic Development, are serving as honorary co-chairs of the Host Committee.

The 2011 forum will feature Davos-style panels, keynote speakers, and concurrent breakout sessions. Specific areas of opportunity for small and medium sized companies will be highlighted. Networking events and one-on-one matchmaking programs will enable companies to connect on an individual level and initiate new business relationships.

The forum is being organized by Saudi Committee for International Trade, US-Saudi Arabian Business Council and Saudi-US Trade Group in collaboration with Saudi Arabian Ministry of Commerce and Industry and US Commercial Service.
