Pakistan blew out England for 192 and 160 to win the first of three tests with two days to spare.

It was England’s first test defeat in 13 months, although it had not played a test since beating India at The Oval in August.

Flower says the long layoff “probably means people aren’t quite up to speed as we usually are ... our challenge now is to get up to speed for the second test.”

The second test begins at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
